Not a time for discussion
One of the few sanctities in this world is the rest room. Whether it be at home, on a bus, in an airport, out in a field, or in the workplace. Most specifically, the workplace. This is not the proper time, nor place, to engage in conversation.
As an example: I made my way into the 7th floor men's room to take care of some daily business, quiet as a church mouse, you might say. The unmistakable ringtone of a co-worker's cell phone is heard. Now, instead of hitting the "ignore" button on the phone and making a decision to call that person back after business had been taken care of, this co-worker thought it would be a good idea to answer the phone from inside one of the stalls.
Not simply answer the phone. Not question, "Hey, can I call you back"? But rather state, "Hey, I'm in the bathroom, if the connection goes out, that's why, I'm in the bathroom". And then continue the conversation while taking care of business.
I have never wished for loud and painful bowel movements before, complete with uncontrollable grunting/shifting/moaning, but this was that
one time where it would have been worth it.
Do you take you home phone into the water closet with you? No. Why take business/personal calls while on the commode at work?
Definitely makes me uncomfortable.
Rule of thumb, if you are in a room where men have their hands on their units, do not engage in conversation. (Exceptions to the rule: at the urinologist's office, or on the set of a porn movie)
