I can honestly say
that when I woke up this morning, I did not expect to see anything like this
This was seen on I-85 heading North from Charlotte to Salisbury.
Since I was driving while I snapped the pic, you can't see the front of the car that had the words "My Son" written on it.
Don't care what your stance on the war is. Doesn't matter. Seeing a soldier being transported like this does make one a bit reflective though. ¶ 2:28 PM 0 comments

One good deed
Not sure if you've heard about the 2 officers that were killed in the line of duty the last Saturday in March.
While I was out in Charlotte today, I stopped in to one of the numerous Subway sandwich shops around town to have lunch. The person in front of me in line was a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Officer.
Just another normal day. Just another normal lunch.
But when he was getting ready to pay for his meal, the manager of Subway informed him that there would be no charge on this day. I thought that was as nice a gesture as could be made at the time.
While the officer was getting his napkins and drink together, one of the other Subway patrons came up to him, shook his hand, and stated that he and his family had been praying for the CMPD.
The whole scene was a bit emotional, even for me.
These are the guys that protect and serve. That put themselves in harms way. And most of the time they don't get treated with the respect (or paycheck) they deserve.
Even though it was a gray and rainy day in Charlotte, that little bit of human kindness made things a little bit brighter today. ¶ 2:15 PM 0 comments

Seen while out and about on this cold rainy day in Charlotte.
You can't see it, but the bumper hosts an "Ireland" sticker. My guess is that we have a transcontinental transplant in our midst.

The picture of health
I cooked up a pound of bacon for dinner tonight.
Then I toasted 4 slices of enriched white bread.
Then I slathered those 4 toasted slices with Duke's Mayo.
Chased it all down with 2 large cups of Mt. Dew.
